Dance of the Meadow
A series on Clayboard

Life in the meadow dances, the flowers and the grasses waltz with the insects and small animals. This series celebrates that movement, capturing an instant in time. Look closely and you see evidence of the melody and tempo that echoes a choreographed dance. The extreme detail of the scenes belies the fact that many plants are created with bold initial strokes. Within a second their life is bound to that specific place in the meadow; their choreography has been written and executed.

About the Media:
Clayboard is a modern fine art quality of scratchboard. A wood panel is coated with white clay, and then covered with black India ink. The art is created in the tradition of sgraffito and scrimshaw by scratching the surface. Once completed, the board is coated with a fixative to seal and protect the art. No glass is necessary and the art may be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. Artwork is sold mounted in a custom made wood frame. Please email for comission discussions.
